Limited Palette-2025

To make your own paintings more colorful, you don’t always need more colors. The foundation for “good colors” in painting is primarily a relative understanding. I want to show you how you can paint (almost) anything with a limited color palette and why this isn’t limiting at all—in fact, it can mean quite the opposite.

I’ve been using limited palettes for a decade now and I want to show you how it has taught what I know about mixing colors.

Suitable for beginners and advanced artists.

The course is in German/English depending on the individual participant.

Program

Day1

-Practice mixing and getting an understanding

-Practical use of the Palette working from life

Day2

-Adjusting the palette

-Working from Live Model

Materials:

Zorn palette: Cadmium Red, Yellow Ochre, Ivory Black, Titanium White

Alternative palette: Cadmium Red, Cadmium Yellow, Viridian, Alizarin Crimson and White

Plus: 1-2 Colors of your choice

3 Canvases with minimum size 30x40cm, Brushes, Palette to mix on, Brushcleaner(No Turpentine!)
